Summer School Games- 6/7/16
Last Weds Parrots Class travelled to Marlborough College to participate in an Inclusive Cricket Tournament specifically aimed at students with special educational needs.
They played three matches of a modified game of cricket which meant every student could be fully involved. Parrot’s didn’t win any of their matches but they all participated fully & showed very good sporting behaviour. As a reward they all received a shiny medal & a sports bag.
Primary Panathlon- 12/7/16
On Tues students from across Bluebirds, Robins, Peacocks, Toucans, Puffins & Penguins classes participated in an event called a Primary Panathlon. This provides an introduction to Panathlon for 5-11year olds, through a team competition that builds foundation skills in a range of Panathlon sports. These sports include:
Parachute Popcorn
Precision Bean Bag
New Age Kurling
Boccia Blast
Flight Path
Basketball Boom
Our students were divided into 5 teams & each team was given a different coloured t-shirt to wear & then keep! The teams rotated around the activities & the scores were recorded. Everyone’s points counted!
Then we had a special celebration prize giving & everyone was awarded a medal. The BLUE team won!! Well done them!
We would like to thank Chris from Panathlon & his team of volunteers from Bristol for helping to organise this fab event & also thank you to Paxcroft Primary School for letting is use their hall.
Who will be announced as this years’ Sporting Champions? All will be revealed at our special assembly tomorrow afternoon at Paxcroft Primary School 2pm. See you there we hope!
