The Speech and Language Therapy

A speech and language therapist is allocated to the school and provision is available for two  days per week. The therapist work with individual pupils and groups of pupils on specific areas of need and complete specialist assessments of pupils’ speech and language development. The therapist also provides and monitors programmes that pupils complete with teaching assistants.

In addition the therapist may provide training so that teachers and teaching assistants are empowered to meet the speech and language needs of pupils with complex needs. Larkrise benefits from a therapist based at the school for twos day a week .The school employs an experienced Communication Practitioner to work closely with the speech and language therapist so that specialism and expertise is enhanced within the school.
