Robins
Rachel Humphrey

KS1/KS2

We work on developing the early skills that children need for successful learning. Phonics, Counting and Communication skills are taught daily. We like to learn through exploration, investigation and play – this means we often get messy!

Learning to Communicate effectively underpins everything we do in Robin Class and we operate a whole communication approach. We use symbols, PECS and Makaton in order to help each child find a way to express themselves in their own way.

We hold regular swimming sessions in our lovely Hydro pool; we have weekly singing and signing sessions with our SaLTA, Susie; and of course, we all love PE !

Everything is exciting in Robins! We especially love sensory play, using the plasma touch screen and of course, playing outside on the bikes! We also love messy art sessions… a bag with a change of clothes in is an essential piece of kit in Robin Class!

Robin Class is like a big family. We nurture and we care – and we extend that beyond the children in the class to their families as well. We understand the joys and the difficulties that many of our families face  daily and we will do whatever we can to support them.

The Robin Class team work closely with each other and with parents to ensure that children are cherished as individuals and that sessions are planned with each individual child’s needs in mind.

And we know how to have fun! Robin Class will always put a smile on your face! 🙂
